Always turn up when they say they will which is very appreciated.
Left the site clean and tidy after completing a great job with both the tree removal and stump grinding. Wouldn’t hesitate to use Garwood’s again.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had three very large trees removed by Garwood Tree Services at my residential address about a year ago. Ryan did a very fair quote up for me and the boys did a fantastic job of dropping all the trees. I'd recommend this company to anyone thinking of getting rid of some trees anywhere in The Scenic Rim area. They are fast, honest and above all safe. Thanks Garwood Tree Services!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Garwoods turned up on time and were very efficient with the process of removing a large tree close to the shed. Every part of the work was handled professionally. The area was left very tidy. This is the second time we have used Garwoods and I highly recommend their services. Thanks again.

How we handle council approvals for you

Free title overlay checks
We check your property address against Macedon Ranges Shire planning maps to confirm permit triggers before work begins.

When council approval requires a formal evaluation, our diploma arborists compile comprehensive tree risk assessments and hazard documentation.

10/30 & 10/50 bushfire exemptions
We identify legal clearing zones around homes to reduce fuel loads before summer without violating native vegetation laws.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an AQF level 5 arborist report for Macedon Ranges Council permits?

Yes, if your property is covered by a Vegetation Protection Overlay or Environmental Significance Overlay, council often requires an AQF Level 5 Arborist Report. Garwood Tree Services provides certified reports for fast permit decisions.

How do bushfire clearing rules (10/30 & 10/50) work in the Macedon Ranges?

Victoria’s 10/30 exemption permits clearing trees within 10 metres of a home constructed before key planning dates in designated bushfire areas without a council permit. We verify your eligibility for free.

Can your crew handle giant 30m+ trees on steep mountain slopes?

Yes. We specialise in steep-terrain tree dismantling using specialised aerial rigging, EWPs and experienced climbers trained for mountain Eucalyptus and Pine windrows.
